We are going to backup the resources in our primary region N. Virginia (us-east-1).
1.1 Click AWS Backup to navigate to the dashboard in the N. Virginia (us-east-1) region.
1.2 Click the Protected resources link, then click the Create an on-demand backup button.
1.3 Select EC2 as the Resource type, then select backupandrestore-primary as the Instance ID. Select Choose an IAM role, then select Team Role as the Role name. Click the Create on-demand backup button.
1.4 This will create a Backup job.
2.1 Click the Protected resources link, then click the Create an on-demand backup button.
2.2 Select RDS as the Resource type, then select backupandrestore-primary as the Database name. Select Choose an IAM role, then select Team Role as the Role name. Click the Create on-demand backup button.
2.3 This will create a Backup job.
Backups can also protect against corruption or accidental deletion of data.
You should see your two backup jobs.
As each job moves into a status of Completed, you can move onto Copy. This may take several minutes.
